About the event
We had an incredible opportunity to welcome a Sales Engineer from Trane to McGill for a really engaging and insightful evening. It was great to hear firsthand how their engineering background helped them transition into a career in technical sales, and how they combine technical knowledge with client relationships in their day-to-day work. We also learned more about Trane as a company, the kinds of projects they work on, and the different career paths available for engineers that would be interested in the business side of engineering.
Beyond the career insights, we also received some really practical advice on tailoring our CVs, highlighting transferable skills, and standing out during the recruitment process. It was especially helpful to hear directly from someone who has successfully made that transition from engineering to sales engineering, who also happens to be a a former MTSC member!
Of course, the evening wouldn’t have been complete…
